Our first in-studio pass at recording tunes from our Mother Earth project with One World Consort was a joy – smooth – like butter. Having our October concert tour under our belt and the home court advantage of being back at Creation Audio studios, the three hour session yielded some great raw cuts. More later on when the […]
Local composer Bob Mitchell has been stirring his musical ideas for years, polishing and perfecting. He has come up with his “Best of” weddings music to rival any you’ve yet heard. His goal: make a CD. Today and yesterday 4VSQ hunkered down at Steve Wiese’s Creation Audio studios to record Bob’s compositions for string quartet, […]
Work at McNally Smith College of Music is rewarding. First-class teachers leading enthusiastic students through real-world exercises. This time: student arrangers were getting a crack at arranging for strings and hearing their works realized in the recording studio. Rebecca and I joined three McNally students to make a five person string section. I think we […]

Anderson (no relation) gifted pianist and composer wrote an inspiring chamber work for piano, oboe, viola, cello and percussion. Tom Hambleton nimbly orchestrated the piece and cooked on […]
Like greased lighting, we were in an out of Creation Audio, Minneapolis, the site of today’s recording for the documentary Electoral Dysfunction, music written by Adi Yeshaya (left). Short and sweet, funny and string-y. Nice work. A feature-length documentary shot in HD, Electoral Dysfunction uses humor and wit to take an irreverent—but nonpartisan—look at voting […]
Danit Yeshaya. Note the name. Beautiful, like her music. Sultry Motown with classic strings, flawless arrangements by Adi Yeshaya. Thanks to Steve Wiese for another great recording session at Creation Audio, Minneapolis.
ATP Strings are in the studio for the FINAL TWO CUTS of Adam Levy’s tunes for And The Professors debut album. It was hot and we were hot. Love this space in the warehouse district….Sound Gallery Studios. Unpretentious. Big and open. I have never seen so many vintage keyboards in one place. Arrangements by masters […]
According to his biography, Michael Johnson‘s ”…voice immediately identifies him as the man who sings “Bluer Than Blue”, “Give Me Wings”, “That’s That”, “This Night Won’t Last Forever” and other landmark songs. His music shows a diversity, depth and heart that only come from years of dedication to a labor of love.” Add the gorgeous string […]
